TIPS for NEXT STEPSW_kra08yNTEUum7THD7Hx_E2vTmLplfY_tips

Whether you are new to PLTW or expanding your existing program, here are a few TIPS to ensure a successful implementation:

#1: Make SURE your teacher/s is/are registered properly for the correct training.  Reach out to the University or host of training if you have not heard from them.  DEFINITELY complete the Online Readiness Training at least 72 Hours prior to Day 1 of Core Training, no later.  If you need an invoice so payment can be processed, request one from the University or host.

#2: REGISTER YOUR DISTRICT or SCHOOL.  Take 5-10 minutes to begin the process TO REGISTER ONLINE.  Registration of districts involves execution of an agreement/contract.  Schools need this in place for teachers and students to have full access to the PLTW online curriculum and resources.  This is ideally done prior to teachers attend training.

#3: PLAN YOUR PLTW IMPLEMENTATION.  Review the Implementation Guide (PLTW_Implementation_Guide (1))to more deeply understand the modules, units, and/or courses, potential sequences, and intended audiences/grade levels.

#4:  ORDER EQUIPMENT & MATERIALS.  Once you know your size and style of implementation, review PLTW Equipment and Materials lists, Computer Specifications,  (Appendix_C_Computer_Specs) and begin an inventory of what your school already has.  Then proceed with purchasing of needed equipment and materials.

#5: CALL THE PLTW SOLUTION CENTER.  Have your school IT person call the PLTW IT team to ensure all software installation, hardware, and other technical set up questions can be answered.  1-877-335-PLTW (7589) or Have your district administrator, teachers, or any others with questions call! Open M-F until 11PM EST.

#6: VISIT PTLW CORE TRAINING IN ACTION.  Administrators interested in visiting their teachers while they attend a PLTW Core Training in Hawai’i, please contact Diana Papini Warren to make arrangements to join a scheduled “PLTW Core Training Visit” in Hawai’i during June and July.
