Recommended Procedure for Registering for PLTW Training:

  1. Understand the PLTW Models of Implementation:
    DOWNLOAD the NEW PLTW Implementation PLANNING Guide:
    PLTW_Implementation_Guide (1)
  2. Ensure you or your administrator has had a conversation with the Director of School Engagement for Hawai’i and/or your District/School is Registered with PLTW
  3. Teachers Register for and Complete the PLTW Online Readiness Training
  4. Teachers Register for PLTW Summer Training “Core Training”. 
  5. Reach out to the Affiliate Host (UH West Oahu in Hawai’i) or PTLW to confirm that you are fully registered.
*There is no longer a requirement to download certificates during Readiness Training and then upload certificates during Core Training Registration.  However, teachers must present certificates of completion on the morning of Day 1 of each training.

Hawai’i PLTW Training – An Update

The following CHANGES were recently made to the Project Lead The Way verizon_kidsimagetentative training dates for UH West Oahu:

  • The Dates for the Introduction to Computer Science (5-Days) Training have been changed to avoid a conflict with the AP Computer Science Institute in Hawai’i
  • The Medical Detectives Training for Middle School Gateway has been postponed until Summer 2017.
  • Two Launch Lead Teacher Training Dates for Elementary Schools have been added for Maui and Hawai’i islands.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Online registration for PLTW Summer Training in Hawai’i or at any of our 60 PLTW Affiliate Universities OPENS MARCH 15th.

USA Funds RFP Round II . Schools can receive from $20k – $115K in funding for professional development and equipment and materials to support an implementation beginning Fall 2016.  All public, private, and charter schools in Hawai’i are eligible to apply.
